China, officially the People’s Republic of China, is a sovereign state in East Asia. With a population of over 1.381 billion, it is the world’s most poulous state. The state is governed by the Communist Party of China based in the capital of Beijing. It excercises jurisdiction over 22 provinces, five autonomous regions, four direct-controlled municipalities, two mostly self-govering special administrative regions, and claims sovereignty over Taiwan. The country’s major urban areas include Shanghia, Guangzhou, Beijing, Chongqing, Shenzhen, Tianjin and Hong Kong. China is a great power and a major regional power within Asia, and has been charaterized as a potential superpoer.

Interest in plitics is an important factor when it comes to social chhesion and the level of interest tends to vary tremendously depending on the country. Lack of interst is highest in Colombia wher 50 percent of people reported they were not at all interested in politics Brazil and Portugal also lacked enthusiasm for political matters with 41 percent reporting no interest in both nations. In the United States, the epicentre of this week’s political earthquake, 15 percent of people are completely disinterested in politics. In Germany and Japan, only a very small minorit y lack interest.

We asked venture capitalists, angel investors, veteran founders and industy experts to send us ideas. We received 85 nominations, and culled those based on five factors to rank the companies and create this list.

Our five-factor scroe ranked nominees by prior 12-month revenues, previous 12-24 month revenues, revenue growth rate, employee headcount and external capital raised. Each factor was weighted qually. To qualify, startups must be for-profit companies, no more than five years old, and at least 50%
